Dr. Julio A. Saviñon is a highly experienced internal medicine physician with over 30 years of medical practice. Board-certified in internal medicine, Dr. Saviñon is a proud member of the Physicians Committee for Responsible Medicine, showcasing his commitment to advancing evidence-based care and responsible medical practices. Since 2002, Dr. Saviñon has held teaching appointments, sharing his knowledge and passion for medicine with aspiring healthcare professionals. His dedication to excellence has been recognized by prestigious quality organizations, including the National Committee for Quality Assurance (NCQA), the Texas Medical Foundation, and PPRNET. Outside of medicine, Dr. Saviñon is an avid reader and a music enthusiast. He enjoys playing the piano during his spare time, exploring new destinations through travel, and spending quality time with his wife and three wonderful children.

Dr. Eddy Berges is a board-certified family medicine physician with a diverse background and a passion for providing comprehensive care to his community. He previously served as Chief Resident at the UTRGV/Knapp Family Health Center in Mercedes, Texas. In June 2020, Dr. Berges was one of six physicians who proudly graduated as part of the inaugural class of the UTRGV/Knapp Family Medicine Residency Program in Mercedes and Weslaco, Texas. Before settling in the Rio Grande Valley, Dr. Berges practiced medicine in the Dominican Republic and Puerto Rico, bringing a wealth of international experience to his practice. Outside of medicine, Dr. Berges enjoys windsurfing, scuba diving, and traveling with his family. He has embraced the Rio Grande Valley as his home and is dedicated to serving its diverse and vibrant community.

Kady Marie Vega brings over 15 years of nursing experience to Rio Grande Medicine. She began her journey as a Licensed Vocational Nurse in 2008, later earning her Bachelor's in Nursing from The University of Texas at Brownsville in 2012. In 2016, she completed her Master's in Nursing with a Family Nurse Practitioner specialization from Chamberlain College of Nursing and Public Health. Her extensive clinical background includes medical-surgical care, orthopedics, and pediatrics at Harlingen Medical Center. She maintains active licenses as both a Registered Nurse and Advanced Practice Registered Nurse through the Texas Board of Nursing, along with board certification from the American Academy of Nurse Practitioners. As a dedicated healthcare provider, Kady focuses on delivering comprehensive, patient-centered care. She is committed to preventive health and helping patients achieve their wellness goals. Outside of practice, she enjoys spending time with her husband and their five children.

Maricruz Rivera-Bloomquist, a Weslaco native, began her nursing career in 1994 after earning her first nursing degree. She gained extensive experience working as a Registered Nurse at Rio Grande Regional Hospital and Knapp Medical Center, as well as in home health care. In 2010, she earned her Master's degree in Nursing with a specialty in Family Nurse Practitioner (FNP) from the University of Texas-Pan American. Mari holds a Texas Registered Nurse license and an Advanced Practice Registered Nurse license and is board-certified as a Family Nurse Practitioner through the American Nurses Credentialing Center (ANCC). She is also a member of the Sigma Theta Tau International Honor Society of Nursing.

Benjamin Treviño is a board-certified Physician Assistant with over 10 years of experience in healthcare. A native of Falfurrias, Texas, he earned his degree from the University of Texas Rio Grande Valley (UTRGV) and has built a strong clinical background in cardiology and internal medicine. Throughout his career, Benjamin has been recognized for his patient-centered care and his ability to manage a wide range of acute and chronic medical conditions. He is dedicated to improving health outcomes through thoughtful, evidence-based care and maintains a strong commitment to the well-being of every patient he serves. Benjamin is currently part of the internal medicine team at Rio Grande Medicine, where he contributes his expertise to support collaborative, high-quality healthcare delivery. Outside of his professional work, he enjoys spending time with his family and staying active through golf and basketball.
